Stardew Valley Gets Epic MOD That Turns 2D Farm Into 3D First-Person Game

After playing Stardew Valley for nearly ten years, have you ever imagined walking into Pelican Town in first-person?

Recently, a major MOD called “The Third Dimension” has been making waves among players. It doesn’t just transform Stardew Valley from a 2D farm into a 3D first-person game, but also supports VR gameplay. Even more impressive, the developer states it’s almost fully compatible with players’ existing MODs, so you won’t have to give up your current mod setup to experience the new gameplay.

Not Just VR — Switch Between 2D, 3D, and VR Modes Anytime!

According to the developer, this MOD is built on the original Stardew Valley engine rather than being a completely new game, which means it preserves most of the original content and gameplay. Besides supporting OpenVR and OpenXR headsets, players can freely switch between 2D, 3D, and VR modes, with added features like dynamic hand gestures and first-person interactions. The developer also mentioned that while the current version is still under active development, it’s already fully playable and supports most existing MODs.

Players Amazed: It Feels Like a Completely Different Game

Since the announcement, the community response has been overwhelming. Many players are calling it essentially “Stardew Valley 2”, while others feel that the first-person perspective makes all of Pelican Town feel entirely different — like playing a brand new life simulation game.

Of course, the MOD is still actively being developed, and some models and visual effects still need refinement. But the mere fact that the classic 2D farm life can be fully transported into 3D and VR has many players excited for the official release.
