Officials stated that the source of this incident was not the game itself, but someone uploading a malicious MOD map through the Steam Workshop in an attempt to spread a Trojan horse program. During the investigation of the development team, an engineer’s test computer was infected, which led to the hacker taking away Discord’s management rights, and all official administrators were kicked out.
Officials emphasized that the infected computer was a computer specially used for testing and had no access to the game source code. The device has been reinstalled and the vulnerability has been patched through updates. Steam has also confirmed that the current version does not pose relevant risks.
