Hideo Kojima’s Kojima Productions has officially announced that Xbox will be the new partner for PHYSINT, expanding their existing partnership through OD to this new action espionage title. Kojima stated that the team spent approximately 3 months searching for a new partner after PlayStation ended the cooperation, ultimately choosing Xbox because both sides share a common vision for the future.
Xbox Execs Can’t Help But Change Profile Pictures?
Following the announcement, Xbox executives quickly celebrated the partnership upgrade on social media, even changing their profile pictures. PHYSINT, which was originally handled through PlayStation, has now suddenly transferred to Xbox—naturally leading players to poke fun: “Sony just said the partnership ended, and Xbox took them away.”

Kojima and Xbox Aren’t New Partners
Actually, this isn’t Xbox suddenly appearing out of nowhere. As early as 2022, Microsoft announced a collaboration with Kojima Productions to develop OD. Now that PHYSINT has joined the partnership list, it represents Xbox and Kojima Studios’ relationship officially moving forward. Officials even stated that future cooperation isn’t limited to games—it may also extend to movies and television.

Sony Let Go, Xbox Directly Takes Over!
PHYSINT was originally a project between PlayStation and Kojima Studios, but Sony recently decided to exit. Kojima Studios then quickly searched for a new publishing partner. Now Xbox has officially taken over, and this “partnership shuffle” has finally settled. As for when this game, described as a next-generation action espionage title, will release—the exact date hasn’t been announced yet.
