After nearly three years of early access, “Palworld (Palworld)” is finally ready to usher in the official version 1.0. However, just as players were preparing to bring the palu and base they had raised along the way into the official version, developer Pocketpair suddenly came up with a suggestion that many old players struggled with: You don’t need to delete your save, but it’s best to restart a new character.
No need to delete files, but the best replay experience?
According to the latest statement from Pocketpair, after the “Palworld” 1.0 update is launched, existing archives can still be used normally. Players do not need to forcefully reset their progress, and they will not lose characters or bases because the official version is online. However, the official also stated that after several years of development, the early game process, mission design, world exploration and growth rhythm are very different from the early access version of that year. If you use the old save directly, you may miss a lot of redesigned content, so they recommend players to experience it from scratch. To put it simply, there is no need to delete files, but the official itself actually hopes that you will play it again!

Since its breakout in 2024, Palworld has been adding new maps, new paloos, new systems, and a host of balance tweaks along the way. However, judging from Pocketpair’s attitude, they are obviously very confident in version 1.0. Otherwise, players would not be proactively advised to put down their old saves and experience the entire world again.
