Sony is reviving classic IP! Bloodborne fans: Is there still a chance we can play it?

Sony was recently revealed to be evaluating the possibility of resurrecting multiple classic IPs, including some old ones that have a deep foundation among the player base. As soon as this news came out, it immediately triggered a lot of discussion in the fan circle. Some people are happy and some are sad, especially fans of “Bloodborne” who find that the work they have been thinking about is not on this list.

Why do people care about “Bloodborne” so much?

Since its release in 2015, Bloodborne has been one of the most popular action role-playing games on the PlayStation platform. Its extremely high difficulty and deeply rooted Gothic art style have made it occupy an irreplaceable place in the hearts of fans. Over the years, the fan community has been calling for Bloodborne 2 or at least a remake, but there has never been an official response from Sony or FromSoftware.

The gap between IP resurrection and fans’ expectations is getting wider and wider

For an IP with a fixed fan base, long-term official silence is often more damaging than direct rejection. When players find that “other IPs have opportunities, but Bloodborne has been skipped”, the feeling of being ignored will gradually accumulate, and eventually form an emotion of “deep love and deep responsibility”.

It has not yet been determined which direction this news will ultimately go.

Sony’s IP strategy has always been the subject of speculation, and multiple names have appeared in the rumors this time, but “Bloodborne” is not among them. This fact makes many fans feel disappointed. But what is certain is that as long as Sony does not give a clear answer for a day, fans’ expectations and speculation will not stop.
