Toy Story Meets Fortnite! Woody and Buzz Get Rescued in Limited-Time Adventure Until October 5

Fortnite is at it again with its “anything can be a crossover” trick, this time teaming up directly with Toy Story 5 for a limited-time experience called “Toy Story 5: The Great Toy Rescue”. The event runs from September 22 to October 5, perfectly timed with Toy Story 5 dropping on Disney+ September 23. This isn’t just about dropping characters into the Item Shop – players get shrunk down to toy size and enter Bonnie’s room for rescue missions.

All the toys are missing – players have to find them all!

The story starts in Bonnie’s room when a Fortnite rift appears and scatters toys across different Creator islands. Players need to find 6 missing characters: Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Rex, Hamm, and Forky, then bring them all back to Bonnie’s room. Each character has different missions – like finding paperclips to rescue Forky, collecting coins for Hamm, gathering crayons to help Woody, even collecting horseshoes with targets to rescue Jessie.

Bonnie’s room becomes a giant maze

The coolest part is players don’t see a regular room – it’s been rebuilt from a “toy perspective” as a huge arena. Regular furniture, bookshelves, and drawers all become explorable terrain, with the room even hiding fantasy worlds like castles, ancient temples, and spaceships. Players can unlock abilities like jumping, teleporting, and spider-web gliding while moving between Creator islands, making the whole experience feel like a mini Toy Story adventure game.

Woody and Buzz aren’t your new skins

While you can see familiar characters like Woody and Buzz in the event, they’re not available as equipable Fortnite skins. Players mainly get character-related abilities and complete rescue missions through the limited-time UEFN experience. The event ends October 5 – if you want to complete this “great toy escape”, you really can’t wait until the last day.
