Xbox Achievement System Finally Evolves! New Mythic Achievement Rewards 100% Completion Players

Any Xbox player knows that completing all achievements in a game essentially means hitting 1,000 Gamerscore, with no special “full completion” reward. PlayStation has had the “Platinum Trophy” for years – complete a game’s main trophies and you get the platinum representing full completion. Now Xbox seems ready to fill this gap, with the new “Mythic Achievement” appearing in Xbox PC App update notes.

Not extra Gamerscore – it specifically tracks full completion!

According to leaked Xbox App data, Mythic Achievement unlocks when players complete all required achievements for a game’s base content, and it doesn’t add to Gamerscore. More interestingly, DLC and post-launch content achievements don’t count toward Mythic, meaning players won’t need to go back and grind a bunch of achievements for suddenly-released DLC just to get this “full completion” mark.

Games you 100% completed before might get retroactively applied

Current data also shows Mythic Achievement might retroactively apply to games players have already completed. In other words, if you already unlocked all base game achievements for a title, the system could directly award a Mythic – no need to replay. This is a pretty significant change for achievement hunters, since before hitting 1,000 points was the end, and now there’s finally something to show on your account – a “I really 100% completed this” seal.

Is Xbox finally catching up to PlayStation here?

Xbox has been reorganizing its achievement system this year, including improving how 100% completion displays and achievement categories. Now that Mythic Achievement icons and unlock sounds have been spotted in the Xbox PC App, a formal release could be imminent. However, Microsoft hasn’t announced a full rollout timeline yet, and it’s unclear whether it’ll launch through Xbox Insider testing first. PlayStation’s Platinum Trophy has been the lone wolf for years – looks like Xbox is finally ready to send out its own “mythic-level” competitor.
