Gaming journalist Jason Schreier recently talked about PlayStation latest strategy, believing the console market has entered maturity from high growth. Every console generation used to expect many new players joining, but now the overall player base has stabilized. Sony direction has gradually shifted to how to generate more revenue from existing players.

Not Pushing PS5 Sales Anymore

Sony CEO Hiroki Totoki recently said PS5 is now in the latter half of its console lifecycle, and the company no longer needs to aggressively drive hardware sales. PlayStation Network has over 125 million monthly active users.
