From its release to the present, almost every news about “Grand Theft Auto VI” has aroused heated discussions. And the problem that players fear most seems to be back again.

Recently, a European retailer page was discovered by players, and it is suspected that the prices of multiple versions of “GTA 6” have been exposed in advance. The price of the standard version is around 90 euros, while the high-end collection version is even priced at 200 euros, triggering heated discussions in the community. According to the current exchange rate conversion, it is 90 euros (approximately NT$3,060, HK$820, and MYR 455); 200 euros (approximately NT$6,800, HK$1,820, and MYR 1,010).
Maybe the players’ worst fears are about to come true?
Ever since some Nintendo Switch 2 titles were priced at US$80, a topic has begun to emerge throughout the gaming industry: “Will GTA 6 be the next to push up the price?” After all, GTA 6 is regarded by the outside world as one of the most expensive games to develop in history, and market analysts have been speculating for years whether Rockstar will use this to break through the price ceiling of current AAA games. Now that prices of 90 euros and 200 euros appear in European retailers, many players immediately began to worry. If this is true, then a new price era for the gaming industry may indeed be coming.

But don’t collapse just yet
It is worth noting that these prices are not officially announced by Rockstar Games. Many retailers will actually fill in the tentative price on the pre-order page in order to establish product information in advance, so there have been a large number of incorrect pricing cases in the past. In other words, this does not necessarily mean that GTA 6 will eventually sell for 90 euros, but it does not mean that it is completely impossible.

GTA 6 has made the entire industry start to look at the direction of the trend
What’s interesting is that everyone’s attitude towards GTA 6 is completely different from other games now. In the past, game companies determined the price, but now many companies are observing how much “GTA 6” will be opened. Because once Rockstar succeeds in pushing up the price and players are willing to pay, other 3A masterpieces are likely to follow suit. To a certain extent, “GTA 6” is not just selling a game, it may even determine the pricing direction of the entire industry in the next few years.

The really scary thing is not the price, but that people may still buy it!
The biggest divide in the community right now is actually quite interesting. On one side, players shouted: “200 euros is outrageous!”; on the other side, someone replied: “If it were GTA 6, I would still buy it.” This is perhaps the scariest thing about Rockstar! Many games will be scolded for price increases, but for GTA 6’s price increase, people may still pre-order it after scolding it.
