One of the most embarrassing Switch game controversies at the beginning of this year has finally received a follow-up. When “Dispatch”, created by the former “Telltale” team, was launched on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 in January this year, it caused dissatisfaction among players due to the forced harmonization of a large amount of adult content. Nudity, foul language, and some adult content that could be switched freely on the PC and PlayStation versions were directly locked into Harmony mode on the Switch version, causing a large number of players to request refunds. Now the development team has finally launched the free DLC “HR Violations Pack” to bring back some of the originally deleted content for Switch players.
He was scolded at first, but now the official admits his mistake and makes amends
The biggest controversy with “Dispatch” was not just the harmony itself, but the fact that many players didn’t find out that the content was different from other platforms until they bought the game. At that time, the Switch version had a large number of black bars blocking the screen, some nudity shots were modified, vulgar gestures and adult content were deleted, and players did not have any choice. After the incident broke out, developer AdHoc Studio even issued a public apology, acknowledging that players had reason to be angry and saying they were working with Nintendo to find a solution.

Free DLC is back, but not the full version
According to Nintendo Life, the latest free DLC has restored some of the original modified content, giving Switch players an experience closer to that of the PC and PlayStation versions. However, it is worth noting that this does not mean that the game has completely lifted all restrictions. There are still some contents that remain in a modified state, so there is still some distance from the true “harmony-free version”.

What players care about most is not nudity
The reason why this incident has been popular for so long is not just because of the nudity in the game, but because players hate buying different versions from other platforms. Especially when works such as “Cyberpunk 2077” and “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt/The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)” can be launched on the Nintendo platform in a relatively complete form, the situation of “Dispatch” is particularly strange. Now that the DLC has finally been launched, it can be said to have cooled down the controversy that has been burning for several months. But for many players, the biggest question may still be the old saying: If you can do this from the beginning, what are you bothering with in the first place?
