Vincent is about to turn over? The director of “FF7” personally hinted that DLC may be released in the future, it depends on whether the players are loud enough!

Although “Final Fantasy VII Revelation” is officially positioned as the final chapter of the “Final Fantasy VII Remake” trilogy, it seems that Square Enix is in no hurry to say goodbye to this universe. Recently, director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed in an interview with Japanese media that it has not yet been decided whether to launch DLC in the future, but if the players’ voices are high enough, the team is indeed interested in exploring more stories of “Final Fantasy VII” derivative works through expanded content.

Is there any chance Vincent could be the protagonist?

Although no official plans have been officially announced, Hamaguchi Naoki specifically mentioned that he hopes to have the opportunity to supplement the content that was not described in depth in the original game, and this also made many players immediately think of “Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII (Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus)”. After all, Vincent Valentine finally became a playable character in “Revelation”. If DLC with him as the core is launched in the future, it seems to be a quite reasonable arrangement. Even related settings such as Deepground, Weiss and Nero, the remake series has been in the process of being laid out in recent years.

“Advent Children” may also return!

Another game that players crazily knocked down is of course “Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children”. The 2005 CG movie has always been regarded as the canonical follow-up to the original story, and Square Enix has hinted many times in the past that the remake trilogy will eventually be connected to the movie’s plot. Now that the director has once again talked about the possibility of DLC, many players have begun to speculate whether the movie story will be directly supplemented by expanded content in the future. Of course, the official currently emphasizes that “Revelation” itself will be a complete ending. As for whether there will be a new story in the future, it depends on player demand and market response.

The final chapter? Just listen to the players

What’s interesting is that whenever a game company says “this is the final chapter,” players usually subconsciously reserve a third of their doubts. After all, as long as the IP can still be sold, the characters are still popular, and players are still willing to pay, the “final chapter” is often just an intermission before the next story begins.

Now it seems that “Final Fantasy VII Revelation” will indeed bring an end to the journey of Cloud and his party. But whether the story of Vincent, Deepground or even “Advent Children” will be dug out and continued, Square Enix has obviously left the door open a crack.
