PS5 European and American download rankings for April are released: “Pragmata” unexpectedly failed to win the championship? Let’s take a look at which works stand out!

Sony recently announced the PlayStation Store European and American download rankings for April 2026. Capcom’s new sci-fi game “Pragmata” ranked second in the United States and Canada, and fifth in Europe, but unfortunately failed to win the championship. The front line has long been occupied by “monster-level” works such as “EA Sports FC”, “Call of Duty”, and “Grand Theft Auto V”. Being able to squeeze into the front line as a newcomer is already a successful start.

It’s already a miracle that “Pragmata” has reached this point.

The game “Pragmata” was announced as early as 2020, and has since experienced multiple delays, which once made players wonder if it had disappeared. The near-future science fiction style and mysterious world view have attracted the attention of quite a few players. But the reality of the download list is that high discussion does not mean that it can beat those “new year”-level works: for example, “Grand Theft Auto V” still continues to be at the top of the list in 2026, as if that game really will never retire.

But for Capcom, this is already an acceptable start.

The new IP was able to achieve this result on the PS5 download list in the early stages of its release. In an era dominated by 3A New Year products, this performance is not bad. Next, it depends on whether sustained player retention and word-of-mouth can continue to push it.
