Classics are now playable not only on consoles or PCs, but also on your wrist. “Mega Man 2” (Mega Man 2) is about to return in a new form. F84 Games and Capcom announced the launch of a new digital game watch, Mega Man: My Play Watch, which is now officially open for pre-order, priced at US$79.99 (approximately NT$2,600/HK$624/RM376).
The product is scheduled to begin shipping in June 2026 and will be sold exclusively by GameStop in the United States.
The watch has two built-in “Mega Man 2” game modes
The biggest selling point of Mega Man: My Play Watch is the built-in “Mega Man 2” with two different gameplay modes.
The Classic mode provides a complete level experience. Players can choose different Robot Master levels to challenge, defeat the boss and advance the game progress. The other Arcade mode is changed to a continuous level design, with the rhythm gradually accelerating, and a score challenge mechanism is added to emphasize repeated play and high-score competition.
In addition, the watch also provides Play Time mode, which is not the game itself, but a set of animated surfaces created with “Mega Man” characters and pixel styles, allowing players to see relevant content during daily use.
Basic functions still retain digital watch positioning
In addition to game content, Mega Man: My Play Watch also has basic digital watch functions, including daily use functions such as time display, step counting, heart rate monitoring, and calorie tracking.
There is no Wifi, no Bluetooth, and no connectivity at all, which means that the product itself is still positioned as a wearable device rather than a pure extension of a game console.
Hardware specifications and operation methods
According to official information, Mega Man: My Play Watch is equipped with a 1.91-inch TFT touch screen, which provides a more vivid display effect and basic game operation requirements. The appearance is designed with a metal case and enamel coating, emphasizing texture performance.
The operation method is a touch screen with side knob input, and operates using the exclusive MyPlayWatch OS system. The device is IP67 dust and water resistant, but does not support Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or app connectivity.
My Play Watch range continues to expand
This is not the first time F84 Games has launched a gaming watch product. In the past, the My Play Watch series has launched versions of classic games such as “Space Invaders” (Space Invaders/Space Invaders), “Tetris” (Tetris/Tetris), and Atari 2600-themed models.
The addition of “Mega Man 2” also means that the series continues to expand its product line with retro games as its core.
