Ravi navi debuts the worlds first 3D printed famicom disk game: Since the discontinuation of production in 1992, “Ravi & Navi”

Since the discontinuation of production in 1992, “Ravi & Navi”, the first new commercial game for the Famicom disk drive, has been officially released in Japan. What’s even more topical is that this game uses 3D printing to produce disk parts, which is the first in the world and will undoubtedly send a shock bomb to the retro game market!

3D printed disks: A new breakthrough in retro hardware
The launch of “Ravi & Navi” is not only a tribute to the FDS (Famicom Disk System) disk drive of the Famicom, but also a pioneer in production technology! This game uses disks produced with 3D printing technology, which is an unprecedented breakthrough in the history of the game and has become a classic example of the combination of retro hardware and modern technology!

The FDS (Famicom Disk System) was first launched in 1986. As a peripheral device for the Nintendo Famicom, it added an additional 2C33 sound channel and provided cheaper and larger-capacity storage space with a proprietary disk. The first game was “The Legend of Zelda” that has been passed down to this day. However, since 1992, the Famicom Disk System gradually withdrew from the market until “Ravi & Navi” came out.

“Ravi & Navi”: the perfect combination of nostalgia and innovation
“Ravi & Navi”, developed by the fan game company HSA Entertainment, is an arcade action game from a top-down perspective. The company has previously launched “Ravi’s Great Adventure” in 2017 and “The Adventure of Ravi & Navi” on Nintendo Switch in 2021, and released derivative works for Famicom red and white machines and Game Boy platforms last year.

Although this new game is based on the previous Famicom version, it adds enhanced background music (BGM) and a high score saving function, allowing players to experience the charm of the game more completely.

For retro game collectors and Famicom Disk System fans, this game is undoubtedly a must-have.
