The Nintendo Indie World Showcase in March 2026 once again proved Nintendo’s appeal in the field of independent games. Although the entire conference lasted only about 15 minutes, the pace was quite tight, and 25 independent games that were about to be launched on Switch and Switch 2 were introduced in one go. Among them, there are not only several “immediate launch” works that are directly put on the shelves on the day of release, but also new works with demo versions released simultaneously. For players who like to explore creative gameplay and niche masterpieces, this Indie World will undoubtedly bring back the dusty Switch!
1. Denshattack!（Switch 2）

Players will embark on a high-speed action adventure in a brightly colored dystopian Japan. The game combines skateboarding skills with high-speed train gameplay. Players need to flip, slide and accumulate points on the train while fighting against strange bosses! The scenes range from volcanoes to grasslands to the ocean.
2. My Little Puppy（Switch）

The story is set in “Dog Paradise”. A corgi named Bong-gu smells his owner in the afterlife and sets off on a journey to find him. Players will advance this heartwarming story through jumping and exploration.
3. Heave Ho 2（Switch / Switch 2）

A cooperative party game for up to four players. Players need to grab each other and swing through the levels, but if they miss, their friends may be thrown into the abyss! The game contains eight themed worlds and a variety of crazy gameplay.
4. Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault（Switch 2）

Players play both adventurers and merchants. Explore dungeons to collect loot, then bring the treasures back to the store to sell, adjust prices and expand the store.
5. Woodo（Switch / Switch 2）
On sale: Summer 2026
Healing style jigsaw puzzle. Players assemble wooden scenes like a model, and colors and animations will slowly appear every time a scene is completed. The Switch 2 version supports Joy-Con 2 mouse operation.
6. Minishoot’ Adventures（Switch / Switch 2）

Twin-stick shooter meets adventure game. Players pilot a spaceship to explore the world, challenge dungeon bosses, and save friends. The map contains caves, temples and sunken cities.
7. The Midnight Walk（Switch 2）
On sale: March 26, 2026
A dark fantasy adventure from the developers of Lost in Random and Fe. The entire game world is built out of clay and presented in stop-motion animation. Players will adventure with a lantern creature named Potboy.
8. Rotwood（Switch 2）

A side-scrolling action game from Klei Entertainment, the team behind Don’t Starve. Players fight against monsters in the forest arena, supporting up to four people in cooperation.
9. Mixtape（Switch 2）
On sale: May 7, 2026
A narrative adventure game about three friends looking back on their youth. The game is paired with tons of classic music, such as DEVO and The Smashing Pumpkins, among others.
10. Blighted（Switch 2）
On sale: Fall 2026
A new game from Drinkbox Studios, the team behind “Guacamelee!”. This is a psychedelic western-style action RPG where players need to fight against the evil Sorcisto and regain the memories of their people.
11. Deadzone: Rogue（Switch 2）
On sale: March 17, 2026
First-person roguelike shooter. Players explore abandoned space stations and collect weapons and equipment. Each level is randomly generated.
12. Grave Seasons（Switch）
On sale: Summer 2026.
It’s ostensibly a farming simulation game, but there’s a supernatural serial killer lurking in the story. Players need to balance small town life with investigating the truth.
13. Unrailed 2: Back On Track（Switch / Switch 2）

The cooperative railway building game returns. Players need to continuously collect resources and lay tracks to ensure that the train does not derail.
14. Toem 2（Switch）

The sequel to the photography adventure game. Players travel to different areas and use cameras to record mysterious events “TOEM”.
15. inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories.（Switch / Switch 2）

Set in a convenience store in a Japanese-style town in the 1990s. Players are responsible for replenishing goods, organizing the store, and interacting with customers to gradually develop the story.
16. Outbound（Switch / Switch 2）

Players transform the camper into a mobile home and travel in the open world. The game supports up to four-player cooperation, and players can build equipment, grow crops, and explore the world.

Rhythm + Roguelike action game, created by the original team of “Patapon”. Players command more than 100 characters and fight through rhythm commands.

The best puzzle exploration game for GOTY 2025, players explore a mysterious mansion that regenerates daily, with each door potentially leading to a different room. The goal is to find the mysterious Room 46.

Thirteen girls are trapped in prison and forced to undergo a “witch trial.” Players need to find the real witch.

Animation-style 3D action game that combines melee, long-range and barrage combat. Players need to dodge and block demon attacks.
Unprecedented third-party support
Overall, although this Indie World Showcase is only 15 minutes long, the content is quite dense, with 25 independent games being released in one go. Many of these works have been launched or demoed today, which also shows that Nintendo has been very active in supporting independent games in recent years.
From the rhythm action “Ratatan” and the psychedelic western RPG “Blighted” to the healing style “Woodo” and the life simulation “Outbound”, you can see that the independent game ecology of Switch and Switch 2 continues to expand. With the launch of Switch 2, future Indie developers will also have greater hardware space to be creative.
