GTA 6 Leaker Steps Back: Claims to Have Story Secrets, Threatens More Leaks

Grand Theft Auto VI has seen new developments in its leak controversy. According to Kotaku’s October 14, 2026 report, the leaker known as “Cyberleek” announced they will not release the full version of the game and will temporarily stop publishing unreleased gameplay footage. Previously, Cyberleek claimed to possess a complete playable version of the game that could be played from start to finish, even threatening to release the entire game if their cryptocurrency market cap reached $30 million. Now, since the target wasn’t met, Cyberleek has decided not to upload the full version, stating they don’t want to reveal the game’s ending and spoil the experience for players.

Leaker Claims to Still Have Story Secrets

Although announcing a pause on leaks, Cyberleek hasn’t completely stopped releasing content. They claim recent footage released comes from the game’s final mission, but they deliberately omitted preceding and following story beats to avoid directly revealing the ending. Whether they actually possess a complete playable version remains unverified by independent evidence. More troubling, Cyberleek mentioned setting up a so-called “dead man’s switch” — if someone attempts to make them disappear or stop their activities, the system could automatically release more leaked content. In other words, while the controversy has temporarily cooled down, players may still face risks of future story exposure.

Rockstar and Take-Two May Still Pursue Legal Action

Beyond the game content, Cyberleek also denied accusations that their cryptocurrency project involved a “pump and dump” scam, claiming the tokens were originally meant for donations only, not as investment vehicles. However, this explanation hasn’t fully assuaged external concerns. Cyberleek previously tied their leak activities to demands such as Take-Two Interactive releasing physical game discs and issuing a public apology, though these demands weren’t accepted by the company.

On the other hand, Rockstar Games previously stated that having game footage leaked early was heartbreaking for the development team, and the leaks have attracted attention from both platform and legal perspectives. Even if Cyberleek now announces they’re stepping back, it doesn’t mean the incident is over — whether more content will leak and how accountability will be pursued remains to be seen.
