Microsoft recently announced during a Surface product event that Call of Duty will be arriving on the NVIDIA RTX Spark platform in 2027. While the announcement didn’t specify which particular title or give an exact release date, it’s a significant signal for the Windows on Arm ecosystem. Microsoft Windows and Devices chief Pavan Davuluri made the announcement at the event, and the official Windows blog confirmed that Call of Duty will join the RTX Spark lineup in 2027.
The Real Challenge Isn’t the Game — It’s Anti-Cheat!
What’s really noteworthy about Call of Duty on RTX Spark isn’t the game itself, but the fact that the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system must also make the leap to ARM64 architecture. The PC version of Call of Duty uses a kernel-level RICOCHET driver, and one of the biggest issues with Windows on Arm has been that many anti-cheat tools can’t run directly in the ARM environment. Now that RICOCHET needs to support ARM64, it means Activision is developing corresponding support for this system, which will also lower the barrier for playing major online games on Windows on Arm.

Not Just AI Machines — Gaming Is Being Added Too
RTX Spark was originally positioned more for AI and high-performance computing, but Microsoft and NVIDIA have been increasingly emphasizing its gaming capabilities. Beyond Call of Duty, RTX Spark is gradually gaining more game and anti-cheat technology support, including Easy Anti-Cheat, BattlEye, and Denuvo. NVIDIA’s official documentation shows that RTX Spark uses ARM architecture, and x86 and x64 programs on Windows can run through emulation or be ported to native ARM64 or ARM64EC versions. Simply put, this machine is working hard to transition from being an “AI workstation” to also being “a computer you can play games on,” and Call of Duty is quite a significant test.
Which Call of Duty in 2027?
Currently, the official announcement only states “Call of Duty” will arrive on RTX Spark in 2027, so it’s unclear which title will be the first to support it. The next mainline entry in the series is Modern Warfare 4, expected on October 23, 2026, but officials haven’t confirmed it’ll be the RTX Spark launch title. With 2027 being a wide timeframe, we’ll have to wait for further announcements to learn whether it’ll be an existing title getting support or if we’ll be waiting for a 2027 release. Either way, the biggest significance here is that RICOCHET is beginning to support ARM64 — because once anti-cheat is solved, other Windows on Arm games will have an easier path to market without hitting the same wall every time.
