Minecraft is expanding its gaming empire into the real world once again! British entertainment company Merlin Entertainments has officially announced that Chessington World of Adventures Resort will feature a brand new Minecraft-themed hotel, slated to open in 2027. From the lobby onward, the hotel will be packed with game elements, including block-style trees and animals, and the elevator will even be designed as a Nether portal. The corridors will be inspired by underground mines, giving players the feeling of actually digging into the Minecraft world the moment they step inside.

Rooms Transformed Into Player Bases!
The rooms aren’t being left out either — all furniture will feature Minecraft elements, including block-style trees, chests, and TNT block-shaped tables. The beds will come with themed pillows and comforters. The hotel is even redesigning its restaurant, with the overall design inspired by Minecraft’s ocean ecosystem, and plans to serve game-themed specialty dishes. As for the hotel bar, it will be themed around the Woodland Mansion and serve colorful “potion”-style drinks — now even drinking will feel like part of the game.

Mojang: The Game Doesn’t Just Want to Live on Screens
Since launching in 2011, Minecraft has evolved from a simple sandbox game into a globally recognized IP. Beyond game updates, it’s launched toys, books, movies, and numerous collab products — even theme park content already exists. Now with this physical themed hotel, they’re literally bringing “entering the Minecraft world” from inside the game to reality. For now, Chessington has only confirmed the hotel will open in 2027, with the official opening date still to be announced.

The Game Isn’t Ready to Retire Either
And there’s more for players to actually look forward to besides just this hotel. Mojang has been continuously adding new content to Minecraft, including the upcoming new dimension “The Deep Dark” (originally announced as “The Wild” update) and a brand new frozen cave biome. The frozen caves will add decorative blocks like ice stalactites and crystals, along with new enemies like the Stray. The game has been out for over 15 years, yet Mojang keeps stuffing it with new content — and now they’re even building the place where players sleep.
