Capcom is running a Tokyo Game Show promotion on Steam with the Resident Evil Reload Collection Extra, bundling 9 Resident Evil titles and related DLCs together. The collection includes Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, the 2005 original Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil 7, and Resident Evil Village. The whole bundle is currently discounted 74%, selling for $39.67 USD on Steam US region (approximately NT$1,250, HK$312, or RM159).
What’s even better is that Steam is using dynamic pricing. If players have already purchased some of the games individually, the bundle price adjusts accordingly – you won’t be forced to re-buy duplicate content. For longtime series fans, this is refreshingly not a “pay for what you already own” situation – the more you buy, the cheaper it gets.
Beyond the 9-in-1 bundle, Capcom also launched the “Capcom Classics Collection” featuring PS1-era titles. This includes original Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, Dino Crisis, Dino Crisis 2, and Breath of Fire IV, currently at 50% discount. Players wanting to catch up on Capcom’s late-90s classics now have a reason to go back and explore.
Usually, buying Resident Evil games one by one adds up to a significant amount. This time they packed 9 titles into one bundle, cut 74%, and even dynamically lower prices for existing owners. You have to wonder – is Resident Evil 9 on the way, and they’re trying to clear out wallets first?
