The Witcher 4 is in development, and whether AI will replace game developers has become a hot industry topic. CD Projekt Red co-CEO Michal Nowakowski said in the latest earnings call that game development is still human-centered. AI has indeed become one of the development tools, but currently there are no plans to rely on AI to directly make complete games.
AI Can Help, But Cannot Become Game Producer
Nowakowski believes AI does have worth in game development and may become more useful in the future, but for CDPR complex AAA games, relying entirely on generative AI is not a direction that fits.
