After numerous leaks of unreleased content from Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar Games has finally issued an official statement. The company expressed that seeing the game content exposed in “completely unintended ways” has been heartbreaking for the development team, while also thanking players for their continued support.
The Official Response Couldn’t Stop the Leaks
The leak primarily involves an individual or group called Cyberleek, who has recently released multiple gameplay clips allegedly from an early development version of Grand Theft Auto VI. The content includes Jason operating in Vice City, airplane driving sequences, and even what appears to be the game’s prologue and Lucia’s content. Take-Two has also issued legal requests to Microsoft and Discord, seeking account information to trace the leak source.
Official Reveal Not Ready Yet, But Players Have Already Seen Everything
The most awkward part is that Rockstar had originally planned to reveal a new Grand Theft Auto VI Extended Look on August 27, but before the official trailer could drop, Cyberleek had already released the content piece by piece. Even on the same day Rockstar issued their statement, new leaked videos continued to surface. The storyline of “the official reveal hasn’t dropped yet, but the internet has already seen it all” clearly isn’t ending anytime soon.
Rockstar Just Asks Players to Wait a Bit Longer
Despite the repeated leaks, Rockstar states that Grand Theft Auto VI’s development is nearing completion, emphasizing that the team will continue working hard to deliver a final product that exceeds player expectations. The game’s release date remains unchanged at November 19, 2026, with no further delays due to this incident. As for how much content players have already seen — let’s just say some of the surprises Rockstar prepared may have already been unwrapped by Cyberleek in advance.
