Square Enix finally gave “Kingdom Hearts IV” players a more decent answer. Officials announced at the Disney D23 2026 event that this game is expected to be launched at the end of 2027, about 8 years after the previous game “Kingdom Hearts III” was released. After waiting for so long, players finally no longer have to rely on the trailer from a few years ago to sustain their lives.
The first Disney World is announced, this time it’s “Coco”’s turn!
What makes fans even more excited is that the official has finally announced the first Disney world confirmed to be included in “Kingdom Hearts IV”, and it is not “Star Wars” or other big IPs that players have guessed for a long time, but the Pixar movie “Coco”. The latest trailer shows Sora entering the “Land of the Dead”, not only changing into a look that matches the world view, but also turning the Keyblade into a “Coco” themed version. This collaboration seems to be more than just a guest appearance by the character.

Donald and Goofy are back too
In addition to the “Coco” world, the trailer also once again shows the Quadratum where Sora is currently in. Familiar characters such as Donald Duck, Goofy and King Mickey will also return. In terms of combat, a faster combo system and Keyblade transformation are added. The game is expected to be released simultaneously on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC. As for the question that players are most concerned about, it is probably “Will it really be released by the end of 2027?” The official answer currently given is yes. After all, “Kingdom Hearts” players have waited long enough, and if it drags on any longer, they may even have to use the Keyblade as a hiking pole.
