“Agefield High: Rock the School”, regarded by many players as the spiritual sequel to “Bully”, finally launched on PC on August 12. As a result, players’ first impressions were quite unfavorable. So far, Steam has accumulated 343 reviews, with a positive rate of only 28%, and the overall score falls directly into the “mostly negative reviews” category. It’s a bit embarrassing to go from looking forward to a campus youth adventure to being the first player to write a review at the beginning.
What players dislike is not the humor, but the game is not smooth!
The game is set in the early 21st century and is influenced by works such as “American Pie”. The developer even warns players in advance that this style of humor may not be suitable for everyone. However, the focus of current player complaints does not seem to be the scale issue, but the more basic game quality, including stiff character animations, frequent game crashes, slow and inaccurate combat responses, and lags that still occur even with low-configuration computers.

“Agefield High: Rock the School” and “Agefield High: Rock the School” are currently priced at $26.99 on Steam (approximately NT$879, HK$211, RM127). For a work that is branded as a spiritual sequel to “Bully” and that players have been looking forward to for a while, it is indeed not a good start to get “mostly negative reviews” from the first release. Back then, players couldn’t wait for “Bully 2”, but now they are finally waiting for a spiritual sequel. As a result, the first lesson is to teach everyone what “lowering expectations” means.
