Larian Studios’ recent live broadcast of “Baldur’s Gate 3” was suddenly interrupted by the platform for violating the “Body Exposure and Sexualized Behaviors” regulations. What’s even more embarrassing is that this live broadcast was a game developed by Larian himself, causing the studio executives to laugh and say: “Baldur’s Gate 3 has been cancelled.”

The incident occurred during Larian’s regular live broadcast of “Baldur’s Gate 3”. When the host played the third chapter “House of Hope”, an intimate plot with the succubus character Haarlep was triggered. Although the live broadcast has enabled in-game nudity restrictions and the character’s body has been partially obscured, some images were still judged by the system to involve nudity and sexually suggestive content, resulting in the live broadcast being directly suspended by the platform and the live broadcast archives on YouTube also disappearing, while the Twitch version can still be viewed.
Being banned on your birthday is also an achievement
Larian publishing director Michael Douse later shared the violation notice on the community and joked: “Baldur’s Gate 3 is now cancelled.” Since that day also happened to be the third anniversary of the release of “Baldur’s Gate 3,” he laughed at himself: “Being banned on your birthday is really cool and rebellious.” Aoife Wilson, the developer in charge of the live broadcast, responded humorously: “Oopsie.” The whole incident turned into an alternative birthday celebration in the eyes of players.

After the incident was exposed, many players found it quite ridiculous and complained: “Even developers can’t live broadcast their own games?” Some people believe that this further highlights the platform’s high reliance on automated systems for content review. As long as specific scenes are detected, even official channels may still be punished.
