There is new news about the future trends of the “Halo” series. According to well-known tipster Rebs Gaming, Halo Studios is developing remakes of “Halo 2” and “Halo 3” and has now entered the actual development stage. Related plans were mentioned as early as 2025 when “Halo: Campaign Evolved” was revealed, and the game has been confirmed to be launched in July 2026, becoming the only remake project that has been implemented so far.
It was revealed that two works have entered development
Rebs Gaming stated that the relevant information came from multiple sources, including a newly confirmed source and a source who accurately broke the news about “Halo: Campaign Evolved”. Both parties pointed out that the “Halo 2” and “Halo 3” remakes are currently in the early stages of development.
As for the specific changes, it has not yet been made public. However, past rumors have mentioned that the two works may be remade using Unreal Engine 5 and continue the design of “Halo: Campaign Evolved”.
There are many plans for the future of the series
After the launch of “Halo: Infinite”, the development direction of the “Halo” series was once unclear. With 343 Industries reorganized and renamed Halo Studios, the outside world continues to pay attention to subsequent plans.
According to multiple reports in the past, in addition to “Halo: Campaign Evolved”, it also includes independent multiplayer real-time service works, as well as the next mainline sequel and other plans.
At present, remakes and service-oriented content may be the main development direction of the series in the short term.
Player reactions are divided
After the news was exposed, the player community had mixed reactions. Some players believe that Halo Studios should prioritize new games in the series rather than remaking older games that are already quite mature, especially since “Halo 2: Anniversary” and “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” already provide high-quality remastered experiences.
However, some players are looking forward to the remakes of “Halo 2” and “Halo 3”, and even hope that “Halo 3: ODST” and “Halo: Reach” can be remade with the same technology in the future.
Redirecting may change the rhythm of the series
In the past, the “Halo” series mainly maintained the rhythm of releasing a mainline work for several years, occasionally paired with side stories or cooperation projects. If the future focuses on remakes and service-based content, it will represent a change in the series’ operating model.
At present, all relevant information is still rumors and has not been officially confirmed by Microsoft or Halo Studios. However, as “Halo: Campaign Evolved” gets closer to release, follow-up plans may gradually become clear in the future.
