Sony was recently grabbed for a subtle action – simply changing the PlayStation Studios website and quietly removing the description that referred to “console to PC.” Like the introduction of Valkyrie Entertainment, it was originally explicitly written to support development from console to PC, but the new version has been completely changed to emphasize only assisting PlayStation IP. In essence, it is not deletion, but “deletion direction”.

With the explosion, the whole thing is not simple anymore
The problem is that this change is just in line with the previous news – Sony may be shrinking its PC strategy, especially for mainframe standalone games.
According to industry reports, some future titles no longer have a PC version planned, which is a clear turning point for Sony, which has been actively promoting PCs in the past few years. Now the official website synchronously rewords, which is tantamount to indirectly verifying this matter.
Not a full exit, but a reassignment of priorities
To be clear, Sony is not giving up on PCs altogether at this time. Like Nixxes Software still exists and is positioned to do high-quality PC porting. The question is not “Is there a PC?” but “Which games will be on PC?”
The signs are more like this – big games come first on PlayStation, PCs are no longer synced, but service games must be online.
Pulling back monopoly value is most straightforward when host prices are higher and competitive pressures are greater.
Sony brakes PC
This change is, in a way, Sony’s “fixing the course.” PlayStation expansion to PC has been a trend over the past few years, but now it looks like they’re starting to rethink the costs and rewards of this path.
The future may turn out to be – the PC will still be there, but not every model, and not so soon.
