AMD officially launched the entry-level processor Ryzen 5 5500X3D equipped with 3D V-Cache technology in the Chinese market. This product was initially launched in Latin America and has now been expanded to the Asian market. It is regarded as a solution that focuses on “low-cost and high gaming performance”.

Although the 5500X3D is based on the older Zen 3 architecture, its core selling point is the addition of 3D V-Cache technology. Through the stacked L3 cache design, this processor can effectively bridge the gap between architecture generations in gaming scenarios. Compared with models of the same level without 3D V-Cache, it has obvious advantages in game frame rate performance.

DDR4 Counterattack Against the Background of DDR5 Price Increase

As the price of DDR5 memory continues to rise, many brands have begun to refocus on the DDR4 platform. Even though DDR4 prices have rebounded in recent years, they are still generally more cost-effective than DDR5 at the same capacity, making them more attractive to players with limited budgets.

Ryzen 5 5500X3D has therefore become one of the “last desserts” of the AM4 platform. In terms of specifications, it is a 6-core 12-thread design with a base clock of 3.0GHz, an acceleration clock of 4.0GHz, and a TDP of 105W. The biggest highlight is the 96MB L3 cache, plus 3MB L2 cache, the official label indicates a total of 99MB L2+L3 cache capacity.

Judging from the test data, large-capacity cache significantly improves game performance, especially in CPU-limited scenarios. However, in the synthetic running score project, it is more reflective of the core’s own computing power rather than the cache advantage.

5500X3D=5600X3D Lite version?

In terms of overall positioning, the 5500X3D can be regarded as a downgraded version of the 5600X3D. The biggest suspense is the final selling price in the Chinese market. At present, it is only revealed that the price will be less than 200 US dollars or 200 euros, approximately NT$6,300 / HKD HK$1,560 / RM940. It is indeed expected to become the “last glory of DDR4” for budget players.
