In the previous article, I reviewed with you some of the history of the Superman live-action series and the feud between Warner and Chuck Snyder, and also let you know some of my basic requirements for Superman. Yes, although there are countless people depicting different versions of Superman or Batman, I think as long as you make a live-action version, you have to conform to a modern and realistic setting.
Wear and body management
In the previous work of Chuck Snyder and Nolan, Superman’s clothes were no longer designed by his adoptive mother’s tailor, but instead were Krypton’s “diplomatic uniforms.” In the MOS movie, Krypton also has different clothes such as “battle suits” and “space suits”.

Superman suits have always been tight-fitting, with the exception of Tim Burton’s stillborn Nicolas Cage version of the rubber suit. In 2006, Brandon’s version of Superman had a darker color, and the material was closer to the sportswear material of Tobey’s version of Spider-Man.

The big breakthrough came when I came to MOS. The whole suit was covered with Kryptonian characters. It is usually a darker blue, but under the sun the tone will be brighter than metal. It visually looks like alien material and non-Earthling clothes. It feels like it is done right…

As for this Superman directed by Gunn, first of all, there are many big problems with Superman’s clothes! The material is very thick and has a texture like a hot water bottle. Superman in the past mostly wore tights to highlight the male figure. Just like men in the 1980s enjoyed aerobic dancing wearing tights and modern yoga pants, both of which showed off the beauty of the body. At the end of MOS, Superman destroys the US military’s satellite tracking him. The female soldier looked at the figure behind Superman and couldn’t help but exclaimed: “Oh my God~! He is so sexy!”

The Oka version of the Superman suit is not only very thick, but also loose and wrinkled… It doesn’t show Superman’s body shape at all, and David, who plays Superman, actually has problems exercising his body shape! It seems that he has only developed a pair of thick arms, and his abdominal muscles are completely lacking! (He obviously had abdominal muscles before he practiced) and he also had a slightly round belly… David’s originally handsome face became very swollen, and I don’t know if he took drugs for a quick workout. In the movie, you can see that David’s face is in a different state every time.

In fact, Reeve and Brandon were just doing ordinary fitness. The movie did not show them naked from the waist up to show off their muscles and abs. Only someone like Chuck Snyder, who is into fitness and has muscle requirements, would require Henry to undergo rigorous training. This requirement started with 300 Warriors. If you have bought the MOS CD, you will know that Henry Cavill is trained by the famous fitness coach Mark Twight (the founder of Gym Jones). This coach is known for his high-intensity training style. This hellish process is so arduous that Henry sometimes even wants to give up, but because of persistence, Henry can show off his almost perfect figure in the DCEU.
So… not only does Oka Chao’s uniform not look good, but his body shape management is also bad! You see, even if Reeve and Brandon don’t have six-pack abs, they still have very well-toned abs! David has a very thick waist as seen in the movie. Since he has no abdominal muscles, he looks like a super robotic bucket waist.

character
Confident, kind, polite, calm and smiling, I believe all previous Superman actors can play this trait. Only in the third chapter “ZJL” does Henry’s character change to confident, kind, gentle, calm, and smiling. (That was the growth trilogy set by Director Cha for him. After his debut, confusion, and sacrifice, he survived and became the superman in everyone’s mind.)

But Gang Chao is like a manic child. You obviously have extraordinary strength and can fly faster than bullets! (This is a generally accepted setting. If you say Oka Chao does not have it, it means you are not restoring the comics!) What is a cross-border rescue? Why did you speak loudly and retort to Louise as if you were wrong? Although Louise has been dating Superman for three months, this is the strongest human being on earth! Are you seeking death by pointing your words at him and refuting his arguments? Don’t say that I have God’s vision and know that Superman is kind! In the movie, it is clear that the two of them still maintain a personal secret space, so I have to praise the new vision of DCEU. Superman is the savior of mankind, but in turn, he is also a threat to the earth.

Sparks with Louise:
During the interview with Louise, he was not as eloquent as the woman and could only speak loudly! You don’t have to play Clark anymore, you’re now Superman!
Restore Reeve Super? Where is your calmness? In the old version, when Lois faced off against Superman, Superman had the upper hand. You are Superman. You can fly freely across countries or universes without having to explain it to the world, right?

In addition to looking like a manic child, this Superman also looks like a giant baby. He was injured at the beginning, and those robots healed his injuries. In order to relieve his pain, they played clips of his Kryptonian parents, and Superman has used this video to encourage himself for decades. There is no problem emotionally, but the dramatic effect of the series of actions is very idiotic. First of all, the robot operates the strong light to shine on Superman, and Superman screams like a slaughtered pig. Over the years, the yellow sun has been traditionally used as Superman’s energy supplement. It can recover from multiple injuries. MOS can be reborn after being blown into a mummy in space! Director Gang, you have no problem changing the settings, but Gang fans have been bragging about restoring the comics. And Superman can restore his energy in daily sunlight. Does he need an operating table? There is snow outside, and it already has excellent reflective effects.

At the end, he was examined and treated by a robot again. This time, a clip of his adoptive parents was played, which was projected and rotated 360 degrees above Superman’s head. This picture looks like a baby sleeping on a BB bed while watching the spinning toys hanging above him, so people laugh at Superman because he looks like a giant baby.

parents:
Let’s talk about the biological parents first. In the past, the biological father has been played by a Hollywood actor. This time, Bradley Cooper, the voice actor of “Marvel’s” and “Rocket Raccoon”, will play the role. Well… Bradley Cooper can be considered a big eggplant, but the appearance is just as heavy as the previous two generations. Perhaps in the minds of Gunn fans, Brother Gang and Mrs. Gang, who often appear in Gunn’s movies, are also excited about it, right?

As for the mission entrusted to me by my biological parents, in fact, the CW drama “Smallville” also played the plot before the conquest of mankind, so I am not as disgusted as most people, but “Smallville” is much better to watch! As for the harem theory about the biological mother, it may be due to Gunn’s previous pedophile remarks and his relationship with pornographic films, so the whole thing becomes very obscene…
In addition, this time the Kryptonian parents speak an alien language. I remember that MOS created and compiled a set of Kryptonian characters before, but a few people thought that the Kryptonians spoke English. So this time, Director Oka realized his wish to speak Kryptonian language? But if it was a real creation or a random talk, I don’t know…
The adoptive parents are the most disappointing. First of all, they are not good-looking. Compared with the love and good looks of MOS and Smallville, they are far behind! There was no sparkle in communicating with Superman, and Dad’s speech was slurred as if he was suffering from alcoholism. My mother is like Li Xiangqin, who has a happy family event.

Let’s talk about the scene in the finale where the giant baby Superman visits his adoptive parents. A family of three are shown in the camera. The question is, who is holding the camera in those scenes? Who is so close that he can take pictures with the Kent family of three? Or are those scenes generated by AI?
Superhuman strength:
I’ve seen many people say that Superman’s defeat is very humane, and his failure is very humane. He only debuted three years ago! You should be able to lose! This reminds me of when THE BATMAN was released, there were a lot of boasting articles on the Internet! Batman is the most authentic detective in history, as realistic as TDK! As a result, he kept making mistakes during the investigation. There were crowds of people in broad daylight, and he was still able to move forward even though his breastplate was being fired at by machine guns… As a result, his supporters only said, “This is only his second year of debut, so immature mistakes are the way to go!” But Nolan’s BATMAN BEGINS just debuted! As for Gang Chao, he has already debuted for three years and is still so immature. Henry has just debuted in MOS.

As soon as the story opens, Superman is defeated by an engineer and falls to lie in the snow. (It is also possible to be defeated, escape and fly to Lonely Fortress due to too serious injuries and collapse) Because Superman spent some time asking Superdog to send him to Lonely Fortress, then the engineers rushed to the snow, but since from the engineer’s lines speculated, the engineer and LEX intended to trace the whereabouts of Superman’s lair – Lonely Fortress, so it is also possible to knock him down and slowly observe. But if that’s the case, this Superman is too careless…, three years after his debut right?
And who is that Engineer? Can he actually injure Superman? (Perhaps every Metahumans in the show can injure him!) She was not originally a DC character, but was later acquired by DC and included in the DC Comics Universe. Just looking at the settings in the comics, she shouldn’t be as powerful as she is in the movie to be able to hurt Superman. It can only be said that Gunn greatly weakened Superman’s strength in the movie! Although we also know that the past image of Superman was too invincible and formulaic, Gunn wanted to downgrade Superman’s strength and create some sense of crisis! It’s a pity that this move not only destroyed Superman’s invincible image, but not only failed to achieve the sense of crisis, but also made him feel useless!

The monster breathed fire and there were so many fire levels that Superman actually needed to protect his head with both hands. An engineer can cut off his hair with even a saw-toothed weapon. His eyes can clearly emit heat energy rays, but they were injured by the clone and turned red?

In the scene in the play, he holds the feet of a giant monster and supports a building that is about to collapse. They are all passers-by who are unable to support them once the crisis is over! Hello~! Whedon’s revamped “Justice League” also features Superman holding up an entire apartment. Isn’t your Superman too weak? Forget it, I’ll continue complaining in the next issue.

Because this article is too long, I have divided it into parts one, two, and two. However, I think the next part may be divided into two parts. Although I thought I could finish the article in one go, I am afraid that the article will be too long and will not be read. So this issue will focus on Superman’s performance in the movie first, and the next issue will focus on other supporting characters. This time you don’t have to wait so long, you can see it tomorrow.
