The Ultimate Edition of “Control” quietly launched an update on Monday. Five years after the game was released, it can still come up with new tricks. The most eye-catching thing about this update is the guest appearance of Hideo Kojima. He plays the role of “Dr. Yoshimi Tokui” in the game. This content was originally limited to the PlayStation 4 Digital Deluxe Edition, but is now finally available to all players.
Remedy Entertainment community manager Vida Starcevic said on the official website of “Control”: “As long as you pick up the item ‘Dr. Tokugami’s Tape’ in the ‘Super Sense Laboratory’ of the research department, you can start this mission.”
It is said that Hideo Kojima recorded these voices as early as 2019. This information was disclosed in a post by his personal assistant. Back then, Kojima and Remedy director Sam Lake made guest appearances in each other’s works – Lake appeared as a senior porter in “Death Stranding”. Both works were launched in 2019, and both were on the major annual game lists that year!
Pre-order costumes are finally unlocked, along with DLSS enhancements and bug fixes
In addition to Kojima’s appearance, this update also adds three new sets of costumes–to be precise, they were exclusive content that was originally limited to pre-order players, but is now fully unlocked. In addition, there are graphics enhancements, DLSS updates and various bug fixes, including audio mixing issues in movie clips and endings. “It’s not Hiss’ fault, it’s our fault, sorry,” Starcevic wrote jokingly.

This update is currently only available on the PC version, but Remedy said it will be pushed to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X platforms “in the near future.”
