Kamen Rider V3-Typhoon: Showa’s highest ratings More popular than BLACK?

You may not know that before BLACK, Showa Knight’s most popular game was V3.

V3’s human body “Shiro Kazami” is played by Hiroshi Miyauchi. He was handsome and unrestrained when he was young, and he belongs to the types of Xie Xian and Nicholas Tse. By the way, I think Toshiki Kaji, who plays Shoichi Tsugami in AGITO, looks very similar to the young Hiroshi Miyauchi. What’s interesting is that Showa Kamen Rider’s highest ratings are V3 (even after BLACK was born), while the Heisei series’ highest ratings are AGITO.

Heji Lishu and the young Miyauchi Yang look very similar.

Moreover, V3’s new knights in Showa are also one of the most frequent cameos, and the human body actor will definitely appear! For example, X Knight came on the scene to equip X with a Mercury circuit. STRONGER and SKY RIDER both had human bodies performing as Sky Riders. The SUPER 1 theatrical version was the first to land to support the knights. Although the human body did not appear, it was also voiced by Hiroshi Miyauchi himself.

In the SUPER 1 drama version, although the human body did not appear, Miyauchi Hiroshi did the dubbing himself.

Even for “Hanuman and the Five Knights” in Thailand, which did not buy the copyright from Toei, it was clear that the main venue should be X Knight, but the main focus was on the boss battle. V3 actually stole the Cavaliers’ chairmanship and acted alone in the limelight!
This happens because V3 is so popular in Thailand! Remember what I mentioned last time? The Thai Kamen Rider is called “Red Ant”, which is the red helmet from V3.

The Thai version of V3 that has always grabbed the C position of X.

Also singled out DARK (SLIVER?) KING! (Actually, the plot is about a combination of five people)

Like the Taiwanese version of the Lightning Knight, the Typhoon can fly in the air and fire missiles and machine guns.

Pay attention to the Thai version of the V3 hood, the eyes are actually dark blue! The small gem in the middle becomes electroplated silver, and a large pearl-colored bag is added to the top of the head?

The most famous setting of V3 is the 26 secret weapons (were No. 1 and No. 2 designed for your own use at the beginning?), but in fact, the 26 kinds are not fully displayed in the play. The official setting book does not seem to list the complete 26 weapons, and some children’s magazines and other books “complete” other weapons are also different. The only impression I have is of the 25th Red Bone Power, which was difficult to photograph with the production technology at the time! However, the manga “Kamen Rider SPIRITS” completed this trick.

The 25th weapon created in a children’s magazine was realized in the comic version.

In this episode, I want to talk to you about V3’s motorcycle – HURRICANE Typhoon Hauri. Why isn’t the main focus on riders? Because so many people have talked about this information, I will focus on the less well-known information about motorcycles.

Where did the Typhoon come from?

In the TV drama, Numbers 1 and 2 dragged the turtle monster and asked V3 to rush to save Tachibana Fujibei. V3 jumped up and shouted “HURRICANE”! I got on the Typhoon motorcycle. The process did not explain where the Typhoon came from. Why did v3, which had just been successfully transformed, know where the Typhoon was?

Although there is no detailed explanation, the books at the time indicate that the Typhoon was originally the new mount of No. 1 and No. 2. However, due to emergencies, it was left to Kazami Shiro to take over.

Originally, the Typhoon was the new model of motorcycles No. 1 and No. 2.

When taking the first styling test photos, the Typhoon had not yet been completed, so the new Tornado was used instead to take promotional photos. Note that v3’s silver chest and abdominal muscles are not yet complete at this time.

The Typhoon originally used Suzuki TM250. The original author Shotaro Ishimori designed and drew a prototype, and then the designer Katsuhiko Saito of Suzuki Suzuki Company improved and manufactured the actual motorcycle.

The bottom of the hood of this car is black, but in episode 20 it is replaced with a white bottom version. In episode 12, it was shown that when accelerating, the whirlwind on the front of the car will change color from 200km (blue) → 400km (yellow) → 600km (red)

After episode 20, the bottom of the hood was changed to white.

When Skyrider made a guest appearance, Typhoon’s internal motorcycle had been replaced by a suzuki Hustler 125. In modern times, the frame that appeared in the dcd drama version had a Yamaha Serow 225 internal structure, which was the frame that appeared in the Japanese Kamen Rider Exhibition.
Features: Under the transparent front cover is a high-position white plate, which is different from the old version of the low-position black plate. The differences are very prominent. The oil pressure gauge on the front of the car clearly shows that it is a Yamaha Serow 225, which is obviously different from the previous SUZUKI.

This suzuki Hustler 125 Typhoon has been placed at the Toei Film Studio.

The Typhoon that appeared in the DCD drama version was actually rebuilt like the new Tornado.

The new version of Typhoon has been displayed in the exhibition hall.

The high-mounted white cover on the hood is very good, and you can tell at a glance that it is not the Typhoon of the year.

The interior is already a Yamaha Serow 225, not a SUZUKI…

THE NEXT’s Typhoon

Since Tornado No. 1 and No. 2 are heavy-duty motorcycles, steel wires are required for many stunt scenes. Therefore, the stuntmen hope that the next motorcycle will be a lightweight off-road motorcycle, which is also the type commonly used by traditional Showa riders. However, the shape may be too similar to an ordinary off-road motorcycle, so the shape is not outstanding, and it has almost never even been launched as a toy.

Alternative V3?

In fact, this is the version of the enemy knight “Silveira” from the DCD and DCD series. Because the shape pays homage to V3, it was also talked about by V3 fans at the time. Because in addition to the head, its belt is also full of V3 style.

Kamen Rider No. 0:

Although the villain Rider who appeared in SHIN Kamen Rider is Number Zero, his appearance is a hybrid design of Number One and V3, especially the belt design, which is also a tribute to V3’s design.

Is the V3 design from Dragonfly?

Yes, if No. 1 and No. 2 are designed from locusts, V3 is from dragonfly. If you look back at Shotaro Ishimori’s design and other comic versions, you can find the shadow of dragonfly.

Shotaro Ishimori and V3 in modeling, very precious photos.

That’s it for V3 in this issue, we will talk about RIDERMAN No. 4 in the next issue! If you are interested, please join the discord group and study tokusatsu with like-minded friends!
