
The Japanese PC-98 classic RPG “Appare-den: Fukuryū no Shō” (Appare-den: Fukuryū no Shō), released in 1995, finally has a complete English translation patch, allowing players who do not understand Japanese to experience this unique Japanese adventure in depth! The game was developed by Technical Group Laboratory, the company best known for its Farland Story series. This game is set in Yamato (a fictional version) in the Edo period. The player will play the role of a grocery store owner, Gento, who will be involved in a conspiracy by chance.

The story begins one day when Gendo witnesses an attack on a samurai while taking a bath. While he was injured, he entrusted the protagonist with a mysterious scroll, requiring him to take his cat demon companion “Benimaru” on a journey and deliver this confidential document to a designated location. However, this seemingly innocent mission involves the two of them in a conspiracy involving historical figures, Japanese monster legends, and classic RPG plots – and in the end they even have to prevent evil forces from conquering the world.

This English-language patch is handled by the well-known fan translation team 46Okumen, which has provided translations for PC-98 classics such as “CRW Metal Jacket”, “E.V.O.: The Theory of Evolution” and “Rusty”.
