How many types of tornados are there in kamen rider: How many series of the first generation Kamen Rider’s Tornado are there?

To illustrate that “riders” of course need motorcycles, this is an inseparable part. Although as early as the mid-term RX era, motorcycles were only used in passing! However, there was also an excellent motorcycle market in Heisei, but unfortunately, I rarely bought them anymore. During the Showa era, Kamen Riders were mostly modified from Suzuki. But in this issue, I am not writing about the car manufacturer’s brand, but how many series of the first-generation Kamen Rider Tornado are there? I mainly introduce the orthodox series, and there is also a short-lived Tornado! Some of the micro details are different, and some of the appearance is maintained, but the interior is no longer Suzuki.

Cyclone:

This is the first motorcycle of the first generation. Inside is a SUZUKI T20. It is set to the HONDA SL350K that Hongo rides fiercely. It can be transformed into a whirlwind by turning the switch! But what is interesting is the transformation scene that is reused every time. The appearance of the Tornado is different from the regular Tornado in the film. The most obvious thing is that there is a mouth like a mouth on the head of the car. This was the version used for modeling photos and transformation scenes, but the official version was modified.

Note that there is an opening at the front of the car, and only the transformation area appears in the play.

Although the setting is modified from HONDA SL350K, the transformation screen is just a simple white board sticking out of the car body, and then the transformation is successful! Moreover, there is no design manuscript, and it cannot be forcibly distorted and transformed like GETTER ROBO’s paintings.
It wasn’t until 2023’s SHIN Kamen Rider that the wild ideas of the year were realized using CG.

The transformation screen of the first generation was just a simple board stretched out…

After decades, the Tornado transformation can finally be realized

Are stand-in cars used in the racing scene?

I wonder if the shell of the Tornado is too bulky. In the drama, whenever the vehicle is required to jump, the scene is replaced by a HONDA SL350K. When it lands, it changes back to the Tornado. No matter how bad the TV was back then, it was easy to spot the flaw, right?

The speeding scene was replaced by HONDA SL350K, and it turned into a whirlwind when it landed.

Tornado No. 2:

The Tornado No. 1 has a total of six exhaust pipes, and the exhaust pipes are blue. When No. 2 comes on stage, the exhaust pipes are changed to silver.

Many people were unaware that the exhaust pipe of the old Tornado No. 2 was silver.

Modification of the Tornado:

In the 14th episode of No. 2’s debut, the modified Tornado was used to jump to the scene! The prototype of the modified Tornado also comes from HONDA SL350K. In the 40th episode, Sakurajima One first appeared on the scene and made a guest appearance on the modified Tornado. He was even briefly brainwashed to attack Ichimonji on the Tornado. After that, the Tornado was retired! After that, No. 2 rode the modified Tornado directly. Before the new No. 1 first arrived on the scene and rode the new Tornado, he also rode the modified Tornado.

When the old No. 2 first landed, there were scenes of the Tornado and the modified Tornado alternating.

Sakurajima No. 1 landed on the modified Tornado for the first time.

In the same episode, Sakurajima No. 1 also has a Tornado with a silver exhaust pipe. This should be the last time the Tornado lands on the scene.

Although the two Tornados landed on the scene at the same time in Chapter 41, they did not appear at the same scene. This scene was not actually used.

But in fact, there are 4 modified Tornados in the entire first generation of Kamen Riders.

According to official information, there are a total of four ABC type and CM type Cyclones that have been renovated.

In fact, there is no such thing as “retrofitting the Cyclone”?

In fact, the so-called old number one, Sakurajima number one, and reformed tornado number are just the branch names in the magazine. In the play, the old number one is Kamen Rider One, and so is the Sakurajima number one that appears in the middle. In the past, Toei didn’t pay too much attention to it, but the pictures published in magazines were too obviously different, so the editorial department defined names for them. Therefore, the modified Tornado was originally the Tornado in the play, because the unmodified HONDA SL350K used in the previous jump field was too obviously different! That’s why the front cover was added to create the modified Tornado. It was originally intended to replace the old version which looked too obviously different. But later, the old Tornado No. 2 was worn out due to aging during filming, and then the Tornado was completely renovated.

In Chapter 52, No. 2 was officially handed over to the Chairman and returned to No. 1. In Chapter 53, No. 1 changed from Sakurajima No. 1 in Chapter 52 to the new No. 1, but here the new No. 1 still rides the modified Tornado.

The new No. 1 actually debuted on the modified Tornado.

The only approved name for the modified Tornado was from the manga “Kamen Rider Spirits”. Tachibana Fujibei used the engine of the modified Tornado to repair ZX motorcycles. Is this the only official recognition?

New Tornado:

First introduced in the theatrical version, the biggest difference between this new Tornado and the later version is that the inside of the headlights are white, while the inside of the later TV version, including No. 2, are uniformly blue. The prototype inside the car is SUZUKI TS250III

The theatrical version of the new Tornado debuts on the market for the first time, and its characteristic feature is that the inside of the headlights are white.

In the TV version, the inside of the lights is blue.

In the TV drama, it debuted in episode 68, and the setting is transformed from a SUZUKI GT380.

The setting is that the new Tornado is modified from this SUZUKI GT380

From V3 to During the period of STRONGER’s Glory Seven, I didn’t expect that it would be the period when the orthodox New Tornado took a break.

V3 period

Kamen Rider X theatrical version period.

Glory Seven has a full cast. In addition to the return of the entire cast, the motorcycles are also the most complete. (It’s just that RIDERMAN’s has been replaced with a silver version)

SKY RIDER period:

Until Kamen Rider No. 7 “Seven of Glory”, there were no major changes to the new Tornadoes No. 1 and 2, but when they came to guest appearance in the theatrical version of SKYRIDER No. 8, the Tornadoes No. 1 and 2 were very weird. Not everyone is familiar with the previous model. First of all, the model number one rides is very similar to the modified Tornado, but the headlights are very protruding, which is very weird. The number two ride looks like a new tornado, but it is also a very weird new tornado.

The Tornado is simulated to be modified and piloted by the New One.

It resembles the New Tornado and is piloted by the New Number Two.

In the picture, the colors of the helmets of No. 1 and No. 2 are wrong, but they are normal in the movie.

These two weird whirlwinds did not appear in any subsequent productions, and were finally seen in the Toei prop film field with other knights.

In fact, Kamen Rider still rides a motorcycle when he guest-starred in the SKYRIDER drama. When it comes to SUPER1 on the 9th, all the Rider guest stars no longer ride motorcycles!

Go to “Born on the 10th!” All Kamen Riders gather! ! 》 also did not ride motorcycles on the stage, but all the riders rode motorcycles when taking promotional photos. But if you look closely at the photo, you can see that both No. 1 and No. 2 were riding weird Cyclones.

The other nine knights in the play did not ride motorcycles onto the field.

But for the promotional photo, all ten riders were taking a group photo on motorcycles. Note that number 1 and number 2 are still riding the weird cyclone.

Until the final episode of the Showa TV series “Kamen Rider BLACK RX”, the 10 riders still did not appear on motorcycles, and there were no motorcycles even during the filming of the episode.

None of the ten riders who participated in RX rode motorcycles, and even the promotional photos were taken without motorcycles.

After the independent series such as Shin, ZO, and J, the Kamen Rider series also stagnated for a period of time, and the two weird cyclones were placed at the Toei Film Studio as if they were abandoned.

“ULTRAMAN VS KAMEN RIDER” New Tornado is resurrected!

After going through the “STRONGER”, “SKY RIDER”, “SUPER-1”, “ZX”, and “RX” eras, we all saw the dilapidated Showa Knight leather cases and the weirdly modified Tornado and New Tornado. In 1993, Toei and Tsuburaya collaborated across borders to produce a special episode of “ULTRAMAN VS KAMEN RIDER”. The new Kamen Rider No. 1 launched here is a brand new leather case, which is different from the old leather cases that were launched before RX! Even the new Tornado is new, and at the end there is an Easter egg of the first-generation Superman riding the new Tornado.

In this special episode, the new No. 1 is in a new leather case, and the new Tornado is finally back in action!

There was actually the first-generation Superman riding the new Tornado.

Excluding future TV shows and stage performances, Showa Kamen Riders will have to go to DCD’s theatrical version “ALL RIDER VS Overhaul Card” to reappear in large numbers. In this theatrical version, only New One, New Two, and V3 have motorcycles on the scene. Although the production special has a narration about taking out old items and reusing them to revive the sleeping engine! But from “Fourze & OOO Movie vs. MegaMax” and the 40th anniversary album, the only motorcycles that can be brought out for performances are the New One, New Two, and V3 motorcycles. As for the New Tornado that appeared in Heisei, only the outer casing may be old and refurbished, but the inner engine is no longer the original SUZUKI TS250III. Since Heisei already used a HONDA motorcycle, the engine of the Heisei New Tornado is likely to be a HONDA motorcycle, especially the No. 2 New Tornado. The exhaust pipe is black and exposed. The design is different from the traditional New Tornado in that it is at the rear of the seat cushion.

After decades, motorcycles No. 1, No. 2 and V3 are back on the screen again!

Pay attention to the protruding black exhaust pipe of No. 2’s new number, which proves that the interior is not the SUZUKI TS250III of that year.

THE series of cyclones:

Cyclone One

It is the first motorcycle of THE FIRST and THE NEXT. The prototype is HONDA CBR1000RR. The design looks no different from the ordinary CBR1000RR, except that it is put on the red and white colors of the Tornado. Neither the old Cyclone nor the modified Cyclone. It barely looks like the new Tornado from the front.

Tornado 2

It is the second motorcycle of THE FIRST and THE NEXT, and the prototype is CB1300SF. The design is very close to the New Tornado, with a very traditional feel.

2016 NEO Tornado:

The special feature of the 2016 Kamen Rider GHOST theatrical version is that the first-generation Kamen Rider Hongo Takeshi has a newly evolved form in this theatrical version. At the end of the film, Takeo Hongo takes over the new generation of Tornado – “NEO Tornado” from the deceased Tachibana Fujibei. The prototype is HONDA GOLDWING F6C. In addition to changing the color to red and white, even the rearview mirror is retained. (Traditional masked motorcycles have their rear mirrors removed)

SHIN Kamen Rider’s Tornado

The Tornado No. 1 and No. 2 are the same. The prototype is CB650R. The appearance imitates the old version of the Tornado. It is also the same as the old TV version. The only difference is that the exhaust hole of No. 2 is silver and the exhaust hole of No. 1 is blue.

The new ride of Kamen Rider No. 2+1 at the end of the film is called SHIN Tornado, and its shape is modeled after the New Tornado. The prototype bike is CB250R (the motorcycle before the transformation of Tornado in the film is also CB250R)

That’s it for this issue’s special episode of Tornado. Recently, I’ve been dealing with game developers. They are developing a four-player cooperative action game with a tokusatsu theme similar to Kamen Rider style. We need more tokusatsu fans to provide more opinions and construction.
