Remember Gex, the gecko who was full of bad jokes and 90s TV memes? Limited Run Games“Gex Trilogy” is finally available on Steam, which means that this collection of classic 3D platform action games is about to officially debut! This remastered version will include the following three works:
- GEX (1995) – Originally released on 3DO, later on PlayStation, Sega Saturn and Windows
- Gex: Enter the Gecko (1998) – series moves to 3D, released on PS1, N64 and PC
- Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko (1999) – The final game in which Gex becomes a super spy, available on PS1 and N64
Powered by Carbon Engine, enjoy the dual enjoyment of nostalgia + modern experience!
This collection, like other Limited Run Games classic remasters, will use the Carbon Engine, which means it will provide modern player-friendly features, including rewind, save states, etc., which will make old players nostalgic while also reducing the crushing difficulty torture of 90s games.
When will it be released? It’s still “Coming Soon”
There is currently no exact release date announced on the Steam page, only “coming soon.” This is also in line with Limited Run Games’ usual style – they usually release new information slowly and only officially open pre-orders when it is ready. Considering this is a project they announced in July 2023, there should be a clearer release date in 2024.
