“Heartbeat Memories~forever with you~Emotional” is a remastered version launched by Konami to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the “Heartbeat Memories” series. It is planned to be released on the Nintendo Switch platform in 2025. This version retains the plot and characters of the original work, improves the quality of the graphics and music, and introduces the Emotional Voice System (EVS) function, allowing the characters to pronounce the names set by the player.
“Heartbeat Memories” is a classic dating simulation game that has entered its 30th anniversary. The core concept of this game is “to relive memories on Nintendo Switch and maintain the original gaming experience” and retains the style and gameplay of the original game. In addition, the game also adds new features, such as “Emotional Voice System (EVS)” and character illustration switching.
Emotional Voice System (EVS)
The EVS system first appeared in “Doki Doki Memories 2” and has since been used in the series, allowing characters to call out the player’s name with voice. There are some preset names to choose from in the game. If you want to customize your name, you need to connect to the Internet (official reminder: EVS’s name login function may be terminated at some point in the future, and you will be notified in advance).
Free switching of character illustrations
In after-school events and dating scenes, players can freely switch between old and new character illustrations, and change the font of in-game dialog boxes. Four visual style options are available:
- Classic version: retain the original character illustrations and original fonts
- Classic version + HD fonts: The character illustrations remain unchanged, but some fonts are upgraded to HD versions
- New version of illustrations: Character illustrations have been replaced with new designs, and the command menu maintains the original font.
- New version of illustrations + high-definition fonts: The character illustrations have been fully updated, and some fonts have been upgraded to high-definition versions. ⚠ Note: Even if you choose the new font, the game UI (as shown in the picture) will still maintain the original design and will not change.
This time “Heartbeat Memories~Forever with you Emotional~” retains the classic content while enhancing the screen performance and voice interaction. For old fans, it is definitely a new experience full of memories! However, it has not yet been officially announced whether this version will support Chinese. Previously, the Chinese version of Windows 95/98 released in 1998 was the only official Chinese version of the “Heartbeat Memories” series. Therefore, we need to wait for further news from Konami as to whether the game will include Chinese support!
